Professor Khalil is a Plymouth Ear, Nose and Throat Consultant Surgeon at the University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust and the Nuffield Health Plymouth Hospital.
His areas of expertise include diseases and surgery of the Ears, Nose and Throat.
Professor Hisham Khalil specialises in disorders of the nose and sinuses (Rhinology) as well as disorders of the anterior skull base. He has specialist expertise in rhinoplasty (nose re-shaping), surgery to relieve nasal obstruction, endoscopic sinus surgery and balloon sinuplasty. He is a specialist within South West Peninsula in treating cancer of the nose and sinuses.
Professor Hisham Khalil’s interest in clinical education includes curriculum design and development, technology enhanced learning, new models for health care delivery and innovative continuous professional development courses.
Professor Khalil is a Clinical Academic and currently the Head of the Peninsula Medical School in the University of Plymouth. He has an interest in clinical education and clinical research including digital health and new models for healthcare delivery. Professor Khalil has completed specialist training in all aspects of otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery in the South West of England. He completed a Rhinology fellowship in Fulda, germany.
With extensive experience of treating patients with a variety of ENT disorders including breathing problems, Professor Khalil specialises in Rhinology (nasal disorders) and skull-based surgery.
He has a specific interest in complex sinus problems and nasal deformities, and the accompanying surgery, including Endoscopic sinus surgery, Rhinoplasty (nose reshaping), surgery for snoring and nasal obstruction. Professor Khalil also has specialist knowledge and practice in throat, larynx and inner ear surgery.
